There are so many nifty and cool gadgets and widgets out there. Just when you think you've got everything you need and want you come across something else. This time it is a component that allows you to set up an ePostcard service on your web sites - your visitors can send postcards to their friends using your photos and images.

I felt I must share with you the versatility of the Phoca - Google AdSense Easy Module. Designed to add Google Adsense code easily to your site - just a copy and paste - I've been using it to all sorts of stuff into my site.
It can be used to add javascipt and flash code into module positions too.
I use it to add videos, where the Joomla embed tool cannot do it, to the my sites - simply copy and paste the embed code into the space for Adsense. I also use it to add affiliate product links where the use javascript.
Play with it and see how it can work for your site.Phoca has a number of other handy Joomla components and modules too.
Have you heard of JoomlaGATor!? Well, I discovered it today.
A easy to install module to put Google Analytics on your web site. Once installed simply fill in the site's Google Analytics account number and select the footer module position and it's up and running. The only schlep is that you, as always, have to set up a profile for each site with Google Analytics.
I spent most of the weekend to figure out how to make and add videos to my web sites. Part of the problem was firstly to create the videos in a sufficient quality without making the files too large and secondly, to embed the videos in my Joomla! web site.
To make the files small enough I wanted to have the eventual video in .flv (flash) format but the Joomla! editor's embedding function don't seem to accept the flv files.
Later on the the article I will explain how I went about creating the following video but first I want you to take a look at my final first attempt.

I belong to a number of Internet marketing forums and one of the questions that always come up is "which is the best Wordpress or Joomla!, with the odd question about Drupal thrown in.
I use Joomla exclusively for my web sites but I tried out Wordpress a while ago but personally found it a bit light for what I'm doing although I'll admit that I probably didn't give it a proper chance.
Be that as it may, I ran across this article today where the three cms systems, Wordpress, Joomla! and Drupal, are compared and the feel of the article is very objective. So, if you are asking this question you can read this comparison at http://www.goodwebpractices.com/other/wordpress-vs-joomla-vs-drupal.html
I've been searching for an Alertpay Virtuemart payment module for ages now and at last I've come across one. Unfortunately it isn't free but it's only $10, so not a train wreck.
Many of us cannot accept Paypal as a payment option due to where we live. Alertpay offers a great alternative and with this module we can ecommerce enable our sites.
The payment module is available for Joomla 1.0.x and Joomla 1.5 Legacy mode at the moment.
I created a web site about drop shipping, About Drop Shipping, to serve as a resource for those who want to set up shop on the Net without the hassle of stocking and distributing products.
If you are interested in learning more about drop shipping visit About Drop Shipping.
About Drop Shipping is a Joomla 1.5 site using one of the OL Web Design templates to provide me with great features like the tabs.ÂÂ
